The Women in Golf charter was initiated by England golf under the auspices of the R&A to make golf as diverse and inclusive as possible. As such Finchley Golf club, with full support from the Board, was one of the first clubs in the area to sign up to this Charter. We feel very strongly that "Friendly Finchley" as it is known should be at the forefront of this fast moving movement.
We are proud to offer women and girls, novice as well as experienced golfers, the opportunity to get involved in a club which puts their future at the heart of moving forward. We have women at the centre of the management of the golf club and intend to expand on that involvement on a regular basis.
A few years ago, we launched our Gateway to Golf which has been very successful for novice players. We are continuing this programme and expanding on it and you can find more info here. We have a journey defined from novice to accomplished golfer. For novice golfers who want to get a taste of golf before signing up to Gateway to Golf, we are organising regular fun afternoons at the club. Contact us for more information on our upcoming events.
For more experienced golfers, we have a whole lot to offer and we'd love you to be part of it. Our women's section is an integral part of the club and we're in the process of moving to ability based golf as opposed to gender based golf.
Compared to other clubs we are forward thinking and many competitions have opened up to all.
We also have many mixed competitions where you can join in and meet all the members and also two roll-ups one on Saturday morning and one on Sundays which you can join and immediately have a 4 Ball with other members.
