“Having driven the 25 miles or so from Hertfordshire we were immediately taken aback by the beauty of Finchley Golf Club as we pulled into the car park and saw what we thought looked like a magnificent Golf Course that we would be playing and we were not disappointed!!!

... Playing off scratch and Peter off 5 we like to play courses at their hardest and how they were designed to be played as this gives you a good indication of how the course designer, in this case the Famous five times Open winner James Braid, was thinking and he certainly made a fantastic course here in Finchley. The members were very kind to us as we plotted our way around the superbly well presented golf course

... Wow, as we walked to the [12th] tee box and looked up our breaths were taken. This was no ordinary 161 yard par three. What a stunning golf hole all uphill, a kind of narrow entrance with mature trees either side, a huge bunker in front with a green that slopes from back to front with a beautiful view of the established clubhouse in the distance - absolutely breathtaking.

... we both walked off the green pleased with 3's but more importantly just having played one of the most gorgeous holes you are ever likely to play. To say we were on a high would not have been an exaggeration ...

... Not knowing what was ahead of us over the last 3 holes but enjoying our golf and the course immensely we were confronted by a tough finishing 1347 yards!!,

... We shook hands and agreed after a challenging round that we will come back to play golf here again for definite and in the very near future. We have recommended it to all our golfing friends and hope and deep down know that they will be just as impressed as we were with what is an absolute hidden gem of a golf course that should be played by anyone who loves golf, they will not be disappointed. Superb tees and greens a great mix of par 4's strong par 3's and thought provoking par 5's. After the round and with a cold beer in hand we sat with a few members outside the clubhouse at a vantage point overlooking the stunning 12th green (we didn't see too many pars!!!!) and the 13th tee and the 18th green (such a picturesque view) and talked about the course and said how lucky they were to be members of such a wonderful course and how driving to the course before your round must fill you up inside and inspire you to play well.
